Anal Solvent video, live from the first Plazm Event, circa 1991

Anal Solvent, one of the great late 80s/early 90s experimental bands in Portland, performing here at Hand Prints. This was the first of a number of benefit shows that helped launch Plazm magazine. Trying to remember everyone who was on the bill. I believe this night was also Pond's first show. Drunk at Abi's played for sure too. And Hitting Birth? It is a blur. I know it was 1991 not '92 because the first issue of Plazm hadn't been printed yet. Below is also a photo of the first Plazm t-shirt. Design by Rob Bardel. There was some debate about if we were going to be "Plasm" or "Plazm"...

China Urban Book Release Party

Sunday night November 21st in Portland.
China Urban book release party should be lots of fun.

There is going to be some super puppeteering happening and a screening of Mad Detective.

The book has been six months in the making. I designed it in collaboration with Colley Gallery director Stephanie Snyder and Reed College professor of Art and Humanities Lisa Claypool. The cover is pictured above. It comes in a brown paper wrapper. There are only 200 of them. They will be hand stamped, editioned and signed at the event.
